The Search Begins for Canada’s Top Franchise Brands

Applications for the 2027 EF100 Awards, Canada’s Premier Franchise Recognition Program, Open July 6

Toronto - July 2, 2026 - Elite Franchise Canada has launched the call for entries for the 2027 EF100 Awards, recognizing outstanding franchise brands across Canada. Officially opening on July 6, 2026, the third annual awards program celebrates franchise systems that demonstrate excellence across a range of criteria, including leadership, business performance, franchisee support, innovation, culture, sustainability, growth and community impact. 

Originating in the UK in 2017, the EF100 has evolved into one of the franchise industry's most respected recognition programs. Since expanding into Canada, it has become a benchmark for franchisors, an opportunity to showcase achievements and gain recognition among the country’s top franchise brands. 

“The EF100 recognizes the franchise brands that are setting the standard for excellence across Canada,” said Scott English, Global Brand Director, Elite Franchise. “As we enter our third year in Canada, we are incredibly proud of the momentum the program has built and the reputation it has earned as a benchmark for franchise excellence. Each year, we see organizations demonstrating innovation, resilience, and a commitment to supporting franchisees, creating jobs, and strengthening communities. The EF100 celebrates those achievements while shining a spotlight on the brands and leaders shaping the future of franchising in Canada." 

To support franchisors through this year's application process, Elite Franchise hosted their EF100 Masterclass session on June 30, 2026. The session provided valuable insights into the submission process, judging criteria, and best practices for creating a standout application. A recording featuring industry experts, esteemed EF100 judges, and leading voices in the Canadian franchise landscape who shared their top tips for a successful submission is available on the Elite Franchise Canada website.

As part of the continued growth and enhancement of the program, an entry fee will be introduced for the 2026 Awards cycle. This investment helps support the ongoing delivery of a prestigious, high-quality awards experience and ensures the program continues to celebrate excellence across the franchise community.

To provide value for every applicant, the entry fee will be fully credited back to participating organizations. For finalists and winners, the credit can be applied toward awards gala attendance. Organizations that are not selected for recognition may instead apply the credit toward editorial opportunities in Elite Franchise. 

This year’s awards will once again be judged by an accomplished panel of franchise industry leaders and experts, including Mary MacDonald, Larry Weinberg, Lisa Rafaele and Pamela Labelle, ensuring a rigorous and credible evaluation process. 

The celebration will culminate at the 2027 EF100 Awards Gala, recognizing franchise brands and leaders making a lasting impact on the Canadian industry. Additional awards will be presented to organizations demonstrating exceptional innovation, sustainability, community engagement, and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Following record interest and continued growth, Elite Franchise will unveil an exciting new home for its 2027 celebration, an elevated venue befitting the industry’s most prestigious awards. Full details will be revealed shortly. 

 “Being recognized as part of the EF100 is an achievement in itself. The gala offers an opportunity for the franchise community to come together, recognize outstanding accomplishments, and celebrate the people behind some of Canada’s most successful franchise brands,” added Scott English.

Applications for the 2027 EF100 Awards open on July 6. Franchisors from across Canada are encouraged to submit their entries and join a growing community of brands shaping the future of franchising.

Key Dates for the EF100:

Entries open: July 6, 2026

Entries close: August 31

Finalist ranking announced: January 29

Additional Award finalists announced: January 29

EF100 Celebration & Awards Evening: March 25, 2027, at TBD
