Sean Oatney is a dynamic franchise development leader with more than 25 years of experience identifying, qualifying, and securing best-in-class franchisees to drive multi-unit, multi-state growth across some of the most recognized brands in franchising.

As Director of Franchise Sales at Planet Fitness's Club Support Center, Sean focuses on finding the right partners to invest in and grow the brand — operators with the financial strength, operational mindset, and cultural alignment to thrive within a world-class franchise system. He guides candidates through the full discovery and investment process while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure strategic, sustainable market expansion.

Prior to Planet Fitness, Sean served as Chief Development Officer at ARC Group and Vice President of Franchise Development at Tommy's Express Car Wash. He spent nearly two decades at United Franchise Group, rising to Executive Vice President and overseeing franchise sales and hundreds of Resales across multiple brands — including Venture X, The Great Greek, Transworld Business Advisors, and Signarama — in more than 25 countries.

A Certified Franchise Executive (CFE), Sean's foundation in leadership and process discipline was shaped by his service as a U.S. Army Airborne Infantry soldier. He is known for building high-performing pipelines, implementing disciplined development frameworks, and building trusted, long-term relationships with franchise investors nationwide.
